B.I.T. Institute of Technology is established by Sri Venkateswara Educational Society under the leadership of Sri P. Chandra Mohan in the year 2001 at Hindupur and is approved by AICTE, Affiliated to JNTUA and Accredited by NBA. The college has a sprawling campus of  26 acres. BIT has spread its wings to offer Four Engineering disciplines, ECE, EEE, CSE and Civil with an intake of 330 seats, MBA with the intake of 60 seats and Diploma courses in ECE, CSE and EEE branches from the academic year 2009 with 60 seats in each course. The objective of the institution is to provide technical education to rural mass and it is the only engineering college in the Hindupur mandal. More than 1000 students are studying, above 200 students residing at College campus hostel and more than 100 employees are working at BIT Institute of Technology, Hindupur. For the last eight years, the college has successfully imparted technical education to rural students and students are placed in MNCs and abroad. The college has got an MOU with JKC and is a star rated college. The college has also got technical MOUs with Camo Software India Ltd., and TMI Systems to promote industry institution interaction. The college organized so many technical seminars, workshops, faculty development programs for students and staff to develop the knowledge of recent technologies in their specialized areas. 

The students are securing university ranks in academics and they are also participating in zonal sports events. The college provides an environment in which the overall personality of the students is developed.  The NSS wing at the college undertakes the social service activities such as blood donation, pulse polio, tree samplings, etc.   The IEI (India) EEE student’s local chapter organize the workshops, conferences, paper presentations contests for the benefit of the students. The IETE forum and CSI student chapter organizes the technical lectures by eminent personalities in the field. The students are trained not only in theoretical aspects but are exposed to practical things though mini projects, main projects and industrial visits.

The College has the advantage of being close  to Bangalore (100 Km), the IT Capital of India, Puttaparthi the fountain of spirituality and tranquility, pioneered by his highness, Bhagawan Sri Satya Sai Baba, is 42 Km away and the famous historical temple Lepakshi, is 15 Km.
